Today we mark a special day in the history of Kosovo created with the sublime sacrifice of the people and with the great and humane spirit of the advanced world, which prevented a severe era of genocide and the haste and which restored the power of hope.
Today, when 16 years from a new beginning of Kosovo and its people have been fulfilled, in every corner of the country, we remember the work, commitment and vision of everyone for the freedom of the country.
This is the painful but proud history of Kosovo, which was reborn 16 years ago with the help of the advanced world, which turned humanism into the highest value of democratic society, by preventing the evil and by helping the construction of a country of equal citizens.
On this Day of Peace, when we are still healing the wounds of a heavy past, of a violent history which demands justice and on this time of celebration, we remember the given promise to make a developed and democratic Kosovo, where everyone will feel responsibility and obligations to construct a different future.
A Kosovo where tolerance, understanding and trust between the people and the cultural and religious diversity, are its specific values and a Kosovo of equal opportunities for everyone.
On this day of celebration we remember the full commitment for the construction of the state of law, where law and order are its highest values and for a reliable and respected country in the world, which fulfill its international obligations.
Today when the challenges for our country are more prevalent, we stand strongly alongside the developed world, as an inseparable part of a struggle to preserve and develop the democracy and secure in the aim to be an equal part of Europe and an advanced country for all the future generations.
