The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, has sent a letter of congratulations to the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi.
In this congratulatory letter, the Slovenian President expressed his firm belief that the friendly relations and partnership between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Kosovo will continue to strengthen to the benefit of the two peoples, inviting President Thaçi to soon visit Slovenia.
Below is the letter the Slovenian President, Borut Pahor, sent to the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi:
Your Excellency , Dear Hashim,
Allow me first to express my gratitude for the kind invitation to attend your inauguration as President of the Republic of Kosovo. It would be a great honour and pleasure to join you on this historic moment, but I regret to inform you that I am unable to attend due to scheduling constraints.
I would like to congratulate you most sincerely on your election and wish you every success in the discharge of your new duties. On this opportunity, I also wish to express my firm belief that the friendly relations and partnership between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Kosovo will continue to strengthen to the benefit of our peoples. In this context, I am pleased to invite you to soon visit Slovenia.
Slovenia devotes particular attention to relations with the countries of Southeast Europe and follows with special care their progress towards European integration. I can assure you that Kosovo may continue to count on Slovenia’s full support and assistance in this regard.
