Prime Minister Thaçi informed President Jahjaga about the meeting with the Prime Minister of Serbia

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs Atifete Jahjaga met today at a working meeting the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Hashim Thaçi, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Mr Hajredin Kuçi.

Prime Minister Thaçi informed President Jahjaga about the proceedings of the second meeting held in Brussels between the Prime Ministers of the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia, with the facilitation of the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Baroness Catherine Ashton.

Prime Minister said that at the very beginning of the meeting he raised the issue of the missing people and expressed his dedication in uncovering of the fate of all missing individuals, and that this issue is a priority of each dialogue session between Kosovo and Serbia. Prime Minister Thaçi also said that he has requested the disbanding and withdrawal of the illegal strictures of Serbia that operate in a part of the territory of the state of Kosovo.

Prime Minister Thaçi stated that discussion was held and an agreement was reached on the integrated border management of the border between Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia and that very soon the implementation of this agreement will begin at four border crossing points. Protection of cultural, historic and religious monuments, to be undertaken by the multi-ethnic Kosovo Police, the motorway that will connect Kosovo with the European corridor 10 and opening of the liaison offices of Kosovo and Serbia were also subjects that were disscussed at this meeting.

Another issue that was disscussed was that of the financing of the institutions of the cultural and religious heritage, of the institutions that provide educational and medical services, which as prescribed by the Ahtisaari Plan, must be made in a transparent manner.

President Jahjaga gave her full support to the dialogue process between the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia, and emphasized that this will lead towards the full normalisation of the relations and will speed up the European integrations.

President Jahjaga and Prime Minister Thaçi discussed and coordinated the activities towards the celebrations of the one hundred years of independence, the visits of state officials abroad and participations to international conferences and on other issues of the democratic functioning of the institutions.
