President Osmani’s speech at the traditional manifestation with the motto “Early detection – Survival”

Greetings to all!

Honourable Prime Minister Kurti,

Honourable Minister Vitia,

Dear Ms. Nafije,

Honourable Ambassadors,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Dear Ladies, who join us in each annual march,

It is an honour for me to stand before you today, as we gather to march again this year, raising our voices together in the fight against breast cancer.

On this day, we all march with a common purpose, to raise awareness, but also to support each and every one who faces the battle against cancer.

As President, I am deeply committed to standing by you in this difficult fight, but a fight that we will not only face, but win together. It is a commitment that each of us makes every day – not only to raise awareness, but also to take concrete, meaningful actions that provide direct support to those who need it most. Therefore, for the third consecutive year, the Presidency, together with the organization “JETA/VITA”, have donated oncology packages for women affected by breast cancer, while the Ministry of Health has led efforts for concrete actions and improvements in the Oncology Department. Now it is our turn to approve all the requests for additional drugs that this Oncology Department has in the next budget of the Republic of Kosovo, in order to ease this battle of patients as much as possible. This march is a dedication to the stoic women survivors, but also a sign of remembrance for all those we have lost and support for those who are still facing this challenge. The steps we are taking today prove the power of mobilization against this evil, but also the hope, the hope for a future where cancer no longer poses a threat to our lives.

Early detection is survival, as we always say, because it is a reality already proven by science, but it is also a reminder in terms of longevity, so delay should not be allowed to be an option.

The sooner it is detected, the sooner we can react and take action to increase the chance of survival.

Together with the Kosovo Centre for the Fight Against Breast Cancer

“JETA/VITA,” we are here again to reaffirm the now well-known message that early detection saves lives.

We convey this message to every woman in every corner of Kosovo. Don’t wait, get checked, act!

No woman should be alone in this confrontation. Those who have gone through this difficult journey are witnesses of strength, courage, and courage in the face of cancer. Each of them has turned the most difficult moments in life into a motivation for life and an inspiration for everyone else who faces this challenge today. Each of them is a story, a story of those affected by cancer that shows at the same time an incredible strength, indomitable courage, and hope that refuses to fade, despite the difficulties. These stories are a testament to the ability of the human spirit not only to endure, but above all, to overcome the difficult challenges of life. Therefore, let us take inspiration from the courage of these women to ensure that our support for them is not limited by time or resources. Thank you for joining us today in this march! Let us ensure together that words are always followed by deeds!

Thank you!
