Today we have gathered here to commemorate the 25th anniversary of an event that changed the course of history, an event that showed the world what a nation that loves and deserves freedom can achieve. Especially when at its head there are devout and brave patriots like the legendary commander Adem Jashari and his family, but also the KLA girls and boys whose bravery, determination and dedication, brought to reality our centuries-old dream of liberation and a state.
They returned our dignity, they defended the thresholds of the house, they defended the honor and the centuries-old hearths, falling heroically and becoming eternal blazes of the Republic.
The KLA epopee is not only a story of war and battle, but a story of endurance, perseverance and hope.
It is a story of sacrifice, but also a story of triumph over the crimes caused by the genocidal Serbian regime.
These men and women responded to the call for freedom, with bravery, courage and unwavering selflessness they fought to protect our home, Kosovo, and to ensure a better future for all of us.
They were not just soldiers, they were and will always be heroes!
This freedom and this state bear the seal of the legendary commander Adem Jashari, his family and the 3 thousand KLA martyrs and of the thousands of fighters we still have among us today.
They are the embodiment of bravery and honor!
Therefore, during the Epopee Days do not only remember those who gave their lives for our freedom, but also the bravery and courage of all our soldiers who fought without sparing anything to protect our nation and our country.
The Republic of Kosovo is an independent state and will be so forever. Kosovo is their legacy, the present and the future of generations.
The people of Kosovo united, fought, and came out victorious!
Today, we are living in a time of global uncertainty, but we will take strength from our heroes, from their legacy, but also from the descendants of our liberation army, the daughters and sons of our army lined up today in honor of the heroes, and who are adequately representing the Republic with dignity all around the world.
You are our guarantee, you are our pride!

Eternally honoring the legendary Jasharaj family, the historic Prekaz and all those who fell under the great banner of the KLA, we gain inspiration and inexhaustible energy to march forward in the unstoppable and unbreakable journey to realize their sacred ideal – preservation and protection of the territorial integrity and state sovereignty of our independent country.
I am proud of each of our soldiers, because all of us together, guided by the memory and respect for our glorious history, side by side with our international allies, are building, developing and strengthening our capacities to be fully effective and contribute to the defense of values that unite us: peace, freedom and democracy in the country and everywhere around the world.
Alongside the allied forces, we were and will be present in humanitarian missions, missions of peace and stability, in the near future of our Republic also under the NATO flag.

The Epopee reminds us that anything is possible if we believe in ourselves and our cause, in our power and if we all work together, without divisions, towards a common goal.
For this reason, we must continue to honour the memory of all those before us, inspire future generations and follow in their footsteps.
On March 5, 6 and 7, 1998, Shaban Jashari, Adem, Hamza and every other member of the family, women, men and children showed heroism, stoicism and dedication, hence we owe to them and to every single fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army eternal gratitude!
We will honor their memory by preserving and nurturing the values for which they fought and fell.
We will honor their memory by working together, being close to each other and fighting for the values we hold dear, such as our freedom and independence.
To all fallen heroes, eternal gratitude!
Thank you for your service, courage and sacrifice, to all our fighters!
The memory of the heroes and the respect for the fighters will remain forever in the hearts and minds of all citizens of Kosovo, valuing and protecting our freedom and our Republic!
