President Osmani remembered the 32nd anniversary of the Kaçanik Constitution

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the Kaçanik Constitution, said that the foundations of Kosovo's citizenship were laid thirty-two years ago, with the approval of this Constitution.

President Osmani stated that with the approval of this declaration, the unshakable foundations of independent Kosovo have been laid.

Below is President Osmani's entire post:

32 years ago, representative men and women, with civic courage and national consciousness, approved the Kaçanik Constitution, which marks the first act in the creation of Kosovo's constitutional order and strengthens the efforts of generations for an independent state.

The then representatives of the Assembly, on September 7, 1990, became lord of the country and immortalized in the Constitution the will of the citizens who represented them, finally sealing the effort for freedom, democracy and an independent state. They challenged a brutal state and regime, laying the unshakable foundations of independent Kosovo.

Today, 32 years later, as we remember this historic date, we humble ourselves to the courage of the then delegates of the Assembly of Kosovo, their dedication to their homeland and persistence to see their state come to life. By approving the Constitution, they laid the first, foundational stone of our citizenship. With it, the creation of the constitutional and state identity of the Republic of Kosovo began.

Eternally grateful for this historic act!
