The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today representatives of the “Liria ka Emër” civic platform, Eliza Hoxha, Ismail Tasholli and Ridvan Emini, who informed her with the organization of the February 17th civic march in Prishtina, with the motto “Justice, not politics”.
During the meeting, the importance of preserving the principles of impartial justice, the values of the liberation war, as well as the responsibility for cultivating historical memory among the younger generations were discussed.
President Osmani emphasized that she supports every civic initiative that seeks justice, underlining that Kosovo’s independence was the will of the people and the result of a centuries-old sacrifice. She recalled that the Kosovo Liberation Army waged a just and clean war for freedom, while genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes were committed by Serbia against the people of Kosovo.
President Osmani emphasized that any attempt to equate the KLA’s liberation war with the crimes of the aggressor undermines faith in justice and damages long-term peace, reaffirming that the historical truth about the liberation war cannot be alienated or rewritten.
The “Liria ka Emër” platform thanked the President of the Republic for the reception and support, inviting citizens to join them in Prishtina on February 17th, Independence Day, for the march with the motto “Justice, not politics.”
