The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu received at a meeting today the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Finland to Kosovo Mr. Johan Schalin.
The excellent relations between Kosovo and Finland as well as the possibilities of intensifying this ongoing cooperation were discussed at the meeting. In particular, President Osmani expressed her gratitude for Finland's support of Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic perspective, as well as for membership in the Council of Europe.
Following the developments with the NATO Summit, President Osmani conveyed her congratulations on the occasion of Finland and Sweden receiving the official NATO invitation to join the transatlantic alliance. In the spirit of this positive development and as a result of current developments in the field of global security, President Osmani stressed the need to support Kosovo's goal of membership in the Partnership for Peace program within NATO.
