The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Gabriel Di Bella, Head of the IMF Mission to Kosovo.
On this occasion, President Osmani thanked the IMF team for their engagements and their support to Kosovo through continuous technical and financial assistance and encouraging policies that support sustainable development and economic prosperity.
The two extremely positive developments in the framework of cooperation with the IMF were discussed in more detail at the meeting, the Stand-By Agreement (SBA) through which liquidity is provided in the event of materialization of challenges in the field of food and energy security as a result of Russian aggression in Ukraine, as well as the Sustainability and Resilience Facility (SDR) Agreement through which affordable financing will be provided to support Kosovo’s climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts and greener electricity generation.
On this occasion, President Osmani emphasized the importance of having additional commitment so that the projects and support provided through these mechanisms are as tangible and understandable as possible for the citizens of the country, in order to ease the burden and deal with economic challenges and difficulties from their side.
The latest developments in the field of security in our country and the importance of coordination and clear communication in order to guarantee the successful implementation of joint projects were also discussed during the meeting.
