President Osmani and Minister Aliu meet for COP28 preparations

President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, received today the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure Liburn Aliu.

The focus of the meeting was the preparations for Kosovo’s participation in COP28, which this year is being held in the United Arab Emirates. The invitation to the Kosovo delegation, led by President Osmani, to participate in the high-level discussions within COP28 represents a historic and very important moment in terms of the country’s commitment to the implementation of the climate agenda.

The developments and achievements in the field of drafting and approval of important legislation in the field of climate change, but also the importance of inter-institutional coordination for a successful representation of the country at COP28 were discussed at the meeting.

President Osmani and Minister Aliu agreed to coordinate engagements and communication during the coming months, emphasizing the great importance of successfully and effectively addressing the challenges arising as a result of climate change in order to guarantee and advance the well-being of citizens.

Numerous projects and important initiatives in the field of environmental protection and infrastructure construction, which are important for the increase of local efforts towards the advancement of the Green Agenda and the improvement of the connecting infrastructure in the country and the region.
