The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu received at a meeting a delegation of the OPEC Fund, led by its Director-General Abdulhamid Alkhalifa.
The visit of the OPEC Fund delegation to Kosovo is taking place on the eve of the signing of the loan agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the OPEC Fund for the program “Kosovo Public Finances and Economic Growth”.
President Osmani informed Mr. Alkhalifa on the reforms taking place in Kosovo in the field of economy and good governance, as well as confirmed the commitment of Kosovar institutions to the continuous reforms, which directly affect the improvement of the lives of citizens. Emphasizing the importance of commitment to sustainable development in the country, President Osmani spoke about the concrete steps being taken in the field of the Green Agenda and stressed the important role of supporting the private sector in meeting these common objectives.
On the other hand, the representatives of the OPEC Fund praised the performance of Kosovo in terms of economic recovery after the pandemic, which according to them has demonstrated that there are favorable conditions for fruitful cooperation between Kosovo and the OPEC Fund.
The parties praised the intensification of bilateral cooperation and discussed the importance of continuing this cooperation by promoting good governance, green energy, environmental protection and sustainable development in general.
