The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, received today the German Federal Government Special Representative for the Western Balkans Manuel Sarrazin and the German ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde.
The latest developments in the north of the Republic of Kosovo following the terrorist attack by Serbian criminal groups which resulted in the death of a policeman and the injury of several others.
Madam President emphasized that the terrorist actions and the act of aggression in the north are orchestrated and implemented by structures supported by Belgrade. Such actions constitute an infringement of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo, and Serbia should be sanctioned for these actions.
Despite these efforts, Kosovo has taken actions in recent months to de-escalate the situation in the north of the country, and the Kosovo Police has shown high levels of professionalism in dealing with Serbian criminal groups.
President Osmani pointed out the importance of support by international allies and continuous coordination with them in efforts for lasting peace, security and stability.
President Osmani reiterated that the actions of the Kosovo Police against illegal structures and Vucic’s criminal groups are legitimate, in fulfillment of their constitutional duties and in defense of all citizens, without distinction.
The results expected from the Berlin Process Summit which will be held in Tirana during the month of October were also discussed.
