The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, met today with the Swedish Ambassador, Jonas Westerlund, with whom she discussed recent developments in the country, including security developments, as well as Kosovo-Sweden relations.
During the meeting, President Osmani and Ambassador Westerlund also talked about Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integration, with the President emphasizing the importance of Sweden’s continued support in this direction. Given that Kosovo is fully aligned with EU policies and considering the reforms implemented in the country, particularly in the field of the rule of law, the President highlighted the necessity of evaluating aspiring states, including Kosovo, based on merit. The meeting also addressed Kosovo’s efforts to advance its international presence and the next steps regarding membership in international organizations.
President Osmani and Ambassador Westerlund also discussed intensifying bilateral cooperation between Kosovo and Sweden, including trade cooperation, potential Swedish investments, collaboration in the field of information technology, and other areas of mutual interest.
