The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani met today with the new Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Aivo Orav.
Madam President bid a warm welcome and successful tenure to Ambassador Orav while reiterating the continuous determination and engagement of the Republic of Kosovo towards membership in the European Union.
President Osmani stated that Kosovo continues to be at the forefront of reforms in all areas, harmonizing its legislation with that of the EU, as well as being fully coordinated with the common EU foreign and security policy . Furthermore, Madam President emphasized that Kosovo has fulfilled all the conditions to acquire the status of EU candidate country.
The latest developments in the country, including security, as well as the cooperation of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and those of the European Union in order to achieve joint objectives were also discussed at the meeting. In this spirit, President Osmani has reiterated the great importance of treating aspiring states based on merit and embracing the values that lie within the very foundations of the EU.
