The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu was received today at meetings by the co-chairs of the group for Albanian issues caucus, congressmen Jim Himes and Ritchie Torres, as well as by the member of the group, Congressman Robert Aderholt.
During the meeting with Congressmen Jim Himes and Ritchie Torres, President Osmani thanked the co-chairs of the Albanian Issues Caucus Group in the Congress for their extraordinary commitment to supporting Kosovo. President Osmani expressed her appreciation for all the initiatives taken in the Congress and in relation to the US administration by congressmen in support of Kosovo, including the initiative to support Kosovo's membership in NATO, as well as other international organizations. Interlocutors agreed to continue close cooperation, as well as the cooperation with other members of Congress towards further advancement of special relations with the US.
At the meeting with Congressman Robert Aderholt, President Osmani briefed the congressman on the work of Kosovo institutions and the reforms that are being undertaken, as well as about the security situation in Kosovo and the region. President Osmani emphasized that the role of NATO in Kosovo is extremely important in maintaining peace and security. President Osmani and Congressman Aderholt also discussed the importance of cooperation between Kosovo and the United States in the fields of defense, economy and other areas of mutual interest.
