The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, on the second day of her official visit to North Macedonia, visited the municipality of Tetova where she was received by the mayor of this municipality Bilall Kasami, who honoured President Osmani with the Key of the City. This award was presented for the first ever time by the municipality of Tetova.
“I am honored to start my visit to Tetovo with the Key of the City presented by the Mayor Mr. Bilall Kasami, a symbol of our daily engagements to staying close to our compatriots,” said President Osmani.
President Osmani appreciated the historic role played by Tetova for Albanians everywhere and thanked the Tetovars who, during the war in Kosovo in 1998-1999, opened their hearts and doors to shelter the Kosovar refugees forcibly expelled by the genocidal regime of Serbia.
The possibilities of cooperation with Kosovar municipalities were discussed at the meeting, in order to improve the lives of citizens from both countries.
“Tetova and its citizens are always in the hearts of the citizens of Kosovo, that’s why today, together with Mayor Kasami, we reconfirmed our commitment to the further nurturing of our special relations,” said President Osmani.
