The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani commemorated today the 26th anniversary of the falling of the hero Luan Haradinaj.
Below is President Osmani’s full statement:
Luan Haradinaj gained eternity 26 years ago, by defending his homeland, sacrificing himself for freedom and the Republic.
On May 6th 1997, Luan was killed by the forces of the Serbian genocidal regime, on his last journey to Albania. His journey was interrupted, but not his dream of the generational ideal. Therefore, Luan and freedom were and are one!
He, together with his family, proved dedication, bravery, courage and extraordinary contribution to freedom, independence and state building!
Luani and all the martyrs of the Republic give meaning to our freedom, our state and the future of generations.
May the memory of Luan and all the martyrs of the KLA be eternal!
