On the 24th anniversary of his assassination, the President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani commemorated academician Fehmi Agani.
Below is President Osmani’s full statement :
Today we respectfully remember the academician Fehmi Agani, the emblematic figure of the movement for the freedom of Kosovo, the man who combined his dedication to knowledge and education with political activity, being the right hand of the historic president, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, with whom he engaged until his last breath in fulfilling the ideal of an independent Kosovo state.
On May 6th, 1999, on the eve of freedom, the visionary and unifier, academician Agani was brutally assassinated by the forces of the Serbian genocidal regime.
His vision and legacy for Kosovo will be an inspiration for generations. The memory of academician Aganin will be permanent, and bringing the perpetrators of the crime to justice is our constant commitment!
