In honour of the 15th anniversary of Kosovo’s independence, the President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani Sadriu has awarded Presidential Medals to personalities from the sphere of culture, sports, security and personalities who have sacrificed for the freedom of Kosovo.
Below is the third list of the awardees:
– Nexhmije Islami, Dyz Massacre, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
– Selami Elshani, Krusha e Madhe, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
– Ramadan Selim Haziri, Koliq Massacre, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo
– Isuf Zhuniqi, Bellacërkë, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit – Post mortem, with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
– Imer Deliu, Abria Massacre, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
– Amrush Ukshinaj, Lu beniq Massacre, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
– Vlora Shabani, Llashtica (Gjilan) Massacre, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
– Hysen Krasniqi, Kralan Massacre, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
– Xhafer Veliu, Shavarina Massacre (Cikatovë e Epërme), is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit – Post Mortem, with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
– Dren Caka, Gjakova Massacre, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo
– Sadik and Qamile Mustafa, Koliq Massacre, are awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
– Xhavit Sejdiu, Garshtica Massacre, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit – Post mortem, with the motivation for the extraordinary sacrifice, battle for justice and special contribution to the defense of the truth and the disclosure of the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
– Edi Shukriu, archaeologist, professor and political activist for the freedom of Kosovo, is awarded with the Presidential Medal of Merit – post mortem, with the motivation for the scientific, cultural and patriotic contribution to freedom and state building in Kosovo.
– Tahir Lush Berisha, teacher and activist for the freedom of Kosovo. fallen during an armed confrontation with the Serbian forces in 1992, he is awarded the Order of Freedom, with the motivation for patriotic contribution and the sublime sacrifice to the freedom of Kosovo.
– Anne Marie Lizin, Belgian politician and former President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Belgium. A strong supporter of the freedom and independence of Kosovo, since the beginning of the 1990s, is awarded the Order of Independence – post mortem, with the motivation for the commitment and significant contribution to the freedom and independence of Kosovo.
– Berndt Posselt, German politician and former member of the European Parliament, is awarded the “Dr. Ibrahim Rugova” Order with the motivation for the contribution made towards the recognition of Kosovo’s right to freedom and independence.
– Jonathan Saiger, Millennium Challenge Corporation, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for his leadership and contribution in developing the MCC’s Kosovo Compact, the largest public investment in the energy sector since the independence of the Republic of Kosovo.
– Hedwig Fijen, Director of Manifesta, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for her contribution in putting Prishtina in the spotlight as the host of Manifesta, the renowned European biennial of contemporary art, and for opening new doors of opportunity for Kosovo’s artistic and cultural communities.
– Michael Wood, Head of the Defense Team at the ICJ is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for representing the Republic of Kosovo at the International Court of Justice in the case of the compliance of Kosovo’s Declaration of Independence with international law.
– The University Hospital and Clinical Service of Kosovo is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for outstanding contribution and the unparalleled humanity shown during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
– The National Institute of Public Health – NIPH is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for exceptional commitment and professionalism demonstrated during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
– Kosovare Asllani, football player, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for contributing to the nurturing and promotion of sports values.
– Valon Behrami, football player, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit with the motivation for contributing to the nurturing and promotion of sports values.
– Xherdan Shaqiri, football player, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit, with the motivation for contributing to the nurturing and promotion of sports values.
– Granit Xhaka, football player, is awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit, with the motivation for contributing to the nurturing and promotion of sports values.
– The KSF contingent engaged in the humanitarian search and rescue mission in Turkey has been awarded the Presidential Military Medal, with the motivation for the extraordinary solidarity and unparalleled sacrifice in saving human lives after the recent earthquakes in Turkey.
