The President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani Sadriu together with Mrs. Zeinah Salahi, USAID Country Director for Kosovo and in the presence of the Ambassador of the United States of America, Mr. Jeffrey M. Hovenier, signed today the fourth Amendment to the Development Objectives Grant with the United States of America. The amendment envisions an additional gain of 31,994,644 US dollars, increasing the total grant amount to over 73.4 million US dollars.
“The continuous support of the United States in Kosovo is a testament to the commitment of the Government and the American people to enhance the well-being of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo through effective and accountable institutions, and to increase opportunities for inclusive democratic and economic participation,” said President Osmani.
This agreement aims at better service to citizens by accountable and effective governance institutions, as well as increasing opportunities for inclusive democratic and economic participation. It also aims for the improvement and cooperation between citizens, civil society, businesses and the public sector in order for the local communities to have a more favorable position in addressing Kosovo's developmental challenges.
