The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the credentials of the new ambassador of Sweden in Kosovo Jonas Westerlund, to whom she bid a warm welcome to Kosovo.
The relations between the two countries have been assessed as good, as President Osmani expressed the belief that the positive developments in the bilateral relations between Kosovo and Sweden will also continue during ambassador Westerlund's tenure.
President Osmani thanked the state of Sweden for its support to date and asked that this support continues particularly on the issue of the liberalization of visas for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
Current political developments in the country and region were also discussed at the meeting. President Osman reiterated the position that in the dialogue with Serbia, Kosovo is a constructive party and that this process should focus on mutual recognition.
According to President Osmani, the decisions of Kosovo's institutions are in accordance with the Brussels agreements on freedom of movement and that Kosovo's institutions are in constant communication and coordination with international partners.
At the meeting, President Osmani and Ambassador Westerlund also discussed the expansion of relations in the field of foreign policy, strengthening of democracy, the rule of law, gender equality and environmental protection.
