President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, accompanied by the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Mr. Nenad Rasic, visited today the Federation of the Union of Retirees and Labour Invalids of Kosovo.
At an open and long discussion with the representatives of the Federation and a number of retirees of Kosovo, President Jahjaga got information in relation to the situation, position, as well as the apprehensions of the retirees.
Chairman of the Federation of the Union of Retirees and Labour Invalids, Mr. Riza Shala, thanked Madam President for her visit and informed her with the actual situation in which the retirees find themselves today as well as with the problems faced by them. Mr. Shala emphasized the need for the approval of the law on pensions and asked for the support of the institutions of the country for this category of the citizens of Kosovo.
President Jahjaga expressed her appreciation of the work done so far and for the continuation of engagements of pensioners in the society. She also conveyed the support for the improvement of the living conditions and finding solutions for the pension related issues.
President Jahjaga emphasized that Republic of Kosovo is a young state, built each consecutive day by all of us together and that institutions of Kosovo will engage for a better wellbeing of all the citizens of the country.
