President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today ta meeting the Head of EU Mission of Rule of Law, EULEX, Mr. Bernd Borchardt, with whom she discussed the local elections process in Kosovo, with particular emphasis on the repeated voting at the three polling station in the North of Mitrovica on November 17th .
President Jahjaga stressed that all citizens of Kosovo, as well as citizens of Serbian ethnicity in the northern parts of the territory of the country, must enjoy the security to utilise their constitutional right to vote freely and without fear. She also said that institutions of Kosovo are dedicated to democratic, peaceful and fair elections, in which citizens can elect their legal and legitimate representatives freely.
She also added that EULEX Mission has an important role to play in this process and praised its engagements during the elections organised on November 3rd.
Head of the EU Mission on Rule of Law, EULEX, Mr. Bernd Borchardt, emphasized the readiness of the mission to ensure a peaceful and quiet process during the repeated voting at the three polling stations in the north of Mitrovica. He also emphasized the need for coordination of all the mechanisms which guarantee the security during the election process.
