The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga received today the deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo who declared the Constitutional Declaration of 2 July 1990.
In a cordial meeting, President Jahjaga congratulated the deputies present for the anniversary of the Constitutional Declaration and said they would enjoy the respect and will be part of all events with state character which the Office of the President organizes.
She highly praised the contribution of the deputies who declared the Constitutional Declaration, in a very difficult time, they also approved the constitution of Kaçanik on 7 September 1990, and undertook a range of other actions in function of the organization of the institutional life of the Albanians in Kosovo, after the occupation of Serbia.
President Jahjaga stressed that the deed of these deputies and the later developments enabled the organization of life in Kosovo, as well as gaining international advocacy is at all stages, up to the armed war of the KLA and the declaration of the independence of the country.
The deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo, who proclaimed the Constitutional Declaration, 22 years ago, thanked the President for the meeting and for the care towards them.
