President of the Republic of Albania, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the Defence Minister of the Republic of Albania, Ms. Mimi Kodheli.
President Jahjaga praised the cooperation between Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Albania and emphasized the need for the expansion of the cooperation in all field, particularly in the field of European integrations.
Madam President stated that Kosovo has made considerable advances towards the consolidation of its statehood, establishment of the state of law as well as in the process of normalisation of relations with neighbouring countries, especially relations with Republic of Serbia.
She also added that Kosovo’s integration into Euro-Atlantic structures is a priority for the institutions of the country and accentuated that establishment of contractual relations with NATO, through Partnership for Peace programme, would help protection of the stability of the country, as well as the stability of the whole region.
President Jahjaga potentiated that Albania could help Kosovo reach the required standards and fulfil the predetermined North Atlantic Treaty criteria. She also added that last year’s KSF achievements have taken a new dimension and a concrete format by NATO decision to officially declare achievement of full operational capacities by KSF.
Defence Minister of the Republic of Albania, Ms. Mimi Kodheli praised the achievements of Kosovo and emphasized the dedication of the Government of Albania to further expand the cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Kodheli also expressed the readiness of the Government of Albania to help inclusion of Kosovo in regional and international security initiatives and participate in exchange of experiences related to Kosovo’s NATO integration Process.
