The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today in a farewell meeting the Ambassador of Australia in Vienna, nonresident for Kosovo, Mr Michael Potts.
President Jahjaga said that Australia has provided and continues to provide assistance to Kosovo in the state-building process and considered relations between the two countries as very good relations. She said that the continued support and assistance of Australia for Kosovo is necessary in particular in the field of economy, through investments.
President Jahjaga said that Kosovo, an independent and sovereign state, aims membership in the Euro-Atlantic structures and is committed to build good neighborly relations with all the regional countries. She said that Kosovo is playing an important role as a factor of peace and stability in the Balkans.
Ambassador Michael Potts said that Kosovo has made significant progress during the last years and estimated that it is on a good path towards European Union integration.
Mr. Potts stressed that the state of Australia will continue to support Kosovo’s efforts for further international recognition and consolidate of its country.
