President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi Bin Mohammed of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with whom she discussed the inter religious tolerance in Kosovo and the dialogue between different religions.
President Jahjaga stated that Republic of Kosovo has a good tradition of cohabitation and inter religious tolerance and that it cultivates it by respecting the religious rights and freedoms of each of its citizens. She also said that religious rights and freedoms are ingrained in the Constitution of the country. President Jahjaga said that Kosovo is a state built upon civic principles with equal rights for all its citizens regardless.
Madam President pointed out that Kosovo and Jordan have built very good relations and emphasized the necessity for deepening of these relations in various fields, in particular in the field of exchange of experiences in promotion of religious values.
His Highness, Prince Ghazi Bin Mohammad of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, said that Kosovo has achieved advancements and praised the engagements of the institutions of the country for the protection and promotion of religious tolerance. He added that Jordan will continue to expand the cooperation with Kosovo and will provide its support for the democratic processes of Kosovo.
His Highness, Prince Ghazi Bin Mohammad of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is currently in Kosovo upon an invitation of President Jahjaga, for participation at the Week of Tolerance and Reconciliation, which promotes dialogue and understanding between different religious communities, under the auspices of which he held a public lecture on the subject of “Love in the Holy Qur’an”.
