President Jahjaga received a delegation of European Parliament

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting a delegation of European Parliament, consisting of Mr. Libor Roucek, Mr. Knut Fleckenstein and Mr. Tonino Picula, members of the Social democratic block of the Parliament.

President Jahjaga informed the EU Parliament members with the general developments in our country, concentrating on the concrete engagements of the institutions towards accomplishment of the necessary reforms, in order to expedite Kosovo’s journey towards Euro integration.

Madam President also stated that all the reforms are being undertaken in order to improve and ease the lives of the citizens, which will in turn help shorten Kosovo’s integration into EU.

President Jahjaga pointed out that National Council on European Integration, which she chairs, has achieved to accomplish its mandated task, the definition of the strategic orientation, through harmonisation of the approaches held by the institutions, political parties and the civil society in lieu of the European integrations process.

The leader of the delegation of the European Parliament, Mr. Libor Roucek, said that the Social-democratic block is engaged towards the EU enlargement policy, as it strongly believes that there will not be peace and stability on Europe without membership of all European countries. He congratulated President Jahjaga, the institutions and the people of Kosovo on the achievements made until now on the integration process.
