President Jahjaga met with the Vice President of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Doan

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, during the proceedings of the Global Summit of Women, being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, met today with the Vice President of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Doan.

President Jahjaga and Vice-President Doan spoke about the developments in Kosovo and the region, for the process of consolidation of the statehood of Kosovo and for the recognition of its independence by Vietnam.

Madam President informed Vice-President Doan with the democratic processes that Kosovo is going through and emphasized that recognition by Vietnam would help international consolidation of Kosovo and would effectuate the cooperation between two countries. She also said that Kosovo is playing an important role in maintaining of the peace and stability in the region and is a promoter of good neighbourliness.

Vice-President of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Doan, emphasized that her country is closely following the developments in the region of western Balkans and in Kosovo in particular, as well as processes that our country is going through. Vice-President Doan said that Vietnam is interested in peace and stability in western Balkans and is also interested to see further advancements of Kosovo.

Vice-President Doan emphasized that her country is also evaluating and reviewing the issue of the recognition of the independence of Kosovo.
