President of the Republic of Kosovo during her stay in New York met with the US Ambassador at Large for Global Women’s Issues, Ms. Melanne Verveer.
President Jahjaga and Ambassador Verveer spoke about organisational proceedings of the International Women’s Conference “Partnership for Change: Empowerment of Women”, which will be held during the first week of October in Prishtina. President Jahjaga is the Host and Organiser of the Conference, with the substantive financial and organisational support from USAID and NDI.
President Jahjaga said that Conference will provide ample opportunities to tackle subjects that deal with empowerment of the role of the Women in societies going through transition period, particularly societies of the Balkan region.
Ambassador Verveer spoke highly of President Jahjaga’s role and specifically commended President’s commitment to Women’s rights in Kosovo and around the world.
