President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, was received today at the Presidential Palace by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Over one hundred individuals from the political, cultural, educational and business sectors of United Arab Emirates were invited at this reception. President Jahjaga and Crown Prince held a long and friendly discussion on important issues in bilateral relations and strengthening of the relations in all fields as well as on issues of regional and global policies.
President Jahjaga thanked His Excellency on the help and support that he has provided to the Republic of Kosovo since proclamation of its independence, five years ago, as one of the first states of the Middle East who recognised the statehood of the Republic of Kosovo. She praised highly the extensive support that United Arab Emirates have provided to Kosovo during and after the ending of the war on liberation of Kosovo as well as the help provided to the people of Kosovo for the rebuilding of the health service and of the economic development.
President Jahjaga expressed her appreciation to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the invitation to participate at the International Energy Summit being held in Abu Dhabi, which focuses on alternative and clean energy using natural resources, a contribution towards protection of the environment and improvement of people’s lives.
United Arab Emirates are playing an important role since becoming a leader country in research in solution finding and utilisation of clean energy. Republic of Kosovo is a country with considerable potential in the field of energy.
President Jahjaga and His Excellency also discussed the cooperation in the field of agriculture and for investment opportunities in Kosovo. She said that Republic of Kosovo is a country that offers opportunities and has resources in agriculture, utilisation of its water capacities and in other fields of mutual interest.
She stated that both countries have good cooperation and understanding, which could be further expanded through partnership in evaluation of resources and inter-twinning of capital.
Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praised the cooperation between the two countries and the achievements of Kosovo on democratisation and state consolidation and development processes. He expressed the need for the expansion of this cooperation through signing of agreements in various fields, especially in the fields of agriculture and energy as well as in investigation of oportunities for concrete investments.
President Jahjaga extended the invitation to Crown Prince Al Nahyan to visit the Republic of Kosovo, invitation accepted with pleasure by His Excellency.
President Jahjaga is on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates and will be participating at the World Summit on Energy, held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
