President Jahjaga is attending the opening of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Energy Week

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, is attending the opening of the sustainable energy week in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Sustainable energy week is an event which brings together world leaders to discuss the challenges and solutions for sustainable energy. The energy week was held under the patronage of the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and was attended by the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon and various Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers and leaders of many countries around the world.

President Jahjaga, during a meeting with the Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussed Kosovo’s cooperation with the United Arab Emirates in the field of economy. On this occasion, she stated that by now Kosovo already has in place the legal infrastructure for attraction of direct foreign investments. Furthermore, President Jahjaga added that two international agreements with United Arab Emirates and the law on strategic investments will help even more in building of a viable partnership between our two countries.

President Jahjaga thanked Crown Prince for the donation towards building of a children’s hospital in Prishtina, building of which will commence very soon.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked President Jahjaga for her participation at the opening of the sustainability week in Abu Dhabi and reiterated that United Arab Emirates consider Kosovo to be an important economic partner.

Under the auspices of this meeting, President Jahjaga also met with the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, President of Iceland Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, President of Nigeria Mohammed Buhari, Prime Minister of Morocco, Abdelilah Benkirane and with the President of Seychelles, James Michael.

At the meetings held with the Prime Minister of Morocco and President of Seychelles, President Jahjaga also discussed the modalities of cooperation and asked for recognition of Kosovo by these respective states. She added that recognition of Kosovo would open new opportunities of cooperation with these states.
