President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, sent a telegramme of condolence to the Mekuli family, on the occasion of passing away of the prominent Gynaecologist and Humanitarian, Prof. Dr. Sehadete Mekuli.
The telegramme states:
Honourable Mekuli family, I received with great sadness the news that last night Prof. Dr. Sehadete Mekuli passed away, the first Albanian female medical doctor, professor at the Medical Faculty since its establishment and one of the prominent Albanian humanitarians.
Prof .Dr. Sehadete Mekuli will be remembered for her untiring work and her precious contribution which she provided as a Gynaecologist, humanitarian, but also as an educator of many and many generations of students of the Medical Faculty of the University of Prishtina.
The name and the deeds of Prof. Dr. Sehadete Mekuli will be remembered with utmost respect by many generations, both within Kosovo and abroad.
On behalf of the citizens of Kosovo and on my personal behalf, please accept most sincere condolences for this loss, which is at the same time a loss for all of us.
