President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, sent today a congratulatory letter to the President of the Republic of France, François Hollande, on the occasion of the National Day of France.
The letter states:
Your Excellency,
I would like to extend the most sincere congratulations on my behalf and on behalf of the institutions and people of Kosovo on the French National Day to Your Excellency and to the French people.
On this important day for your Nation which carries the message for liberty and equality between peoples, I would like to express the deepest gratitude for the continuous support of the French people and the French Republic towards the people of Kosovo in every step, from their most trying times towards the consolidation of the state. Kosovo people will always remain grateful and cherish close to their hearts your friendship.
It is precisely these values, liberty, equality and fraternity, which you celebrate today upon which we have founded the state of Kosovo, a state where all citizens are guaranteed equal rights regardless of ethnicity or religious background, offered the opportunity for a life in peace, stability and prosperity.
I would like to reiterate, You Excellency that Kosovo is a promoter of peace and stability in the region and beyond, determined to undertake all the necessary reforms in its road toward Euro-Atlantic integration. In our path we regard Your country and the French people our close partner, ally and friend.
We wish you warm celebrations on this special day for your country.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
Atifete Jahjaga,
President of the Republic of Kosovo
