President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, sent today a congratulatory telegramme to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, on the occasion of his election on the post of the Prime Minister as well as the vote of confidence for his nominated government members by the Parliament of the Republic of Albania.
The telegramme states:
Honourable Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, on behalf of the people of Kosovo and on my personal behalf, please accept my cordial congratulations upon your election as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania and for the vote of confidence for your governing cabinet by the Parliament of the Republic of Albania.
Honourable Prime Minister; your election, which resulted as an expression of the free will of the citizens through a just and honest electoral process, demonstrates the dedication of all the citizens to a better future and a high level of democracy which marks a success towards the advancement of the processes in Albania on its journey towards EU membership. This also shows the political maturity of the political factors in this democratic process.
Honourable Prime Minister Rama, I express the dedication of the institutions and the citizens of Kosovo towards a good and all encompasing cooperation between our two countries, which are in the interest of both our countries, in the interest of the progress of our nations and which contribute to the peace, stability and mutual understanding in the region and beyond.
The future of our countries and the rest of the South-Eastern Europe lie in full membership in the European Union.
I express my full confidence in the fact that the engagement and the dedication of your government will move forward the democratic processes and undertake the necessary reforms to make Albania a land of opportunities for its citizens.
