The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga in closing of the official visit to the Republic of Albania, visited the city of Shkodra. President Jahjaga, accompanied by the Mayor of the Municipality of Shkodra, Mrs. Voltana Ademi visited the castle of Rozafa and fonoteca “Marubi”.
In a statement made on this occasion President Jahjaga said:
It is a great pleasure, because this first state visit of mine here in Albania I am concluding exactly with the visit in the extraordinarily beautiful city of Shkodra, with an exceptional hospitality from the Mayor.
I say that it is the city of the intertwining of ancient tradition and culture that this part has. This is a historical place and it truly left me with extremely large impressions, especially this symbol of resistance, the Rozafa castle, which for us Albanians has an exceptional significance. I thank the citizens of Shkodra, who always have been able to preserve and foster this long tradition and to carry it from one generation to the next generation.
President Jahjaga paid an official visit to the Republic of Albania, at the invitation of President Bujar Nishani.
Besides to Mr. Nishani, President Jahjaga also met with Prime Minister Rama, the President of the Assembly, Meta, the Mayor of Tirana, Veliaj, the President of the Democratic Party, Basha, writer Ismail Kadare and other officials. She also visited Berat and Shkodra.
