The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, received today the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Musa Xhaferi.
President Atifete Jahjaga congratulated the Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister for the elections and the creation of the ruling coalition. She praised the bilateral relations and said they will continue to be deepened in all areas.
President Jahjaga said that the Republic of Kosovo with the Republic of Macedonia has no open issues and considered the extension of the project of the Prishtina-Skopje highway and the opening of a joint border crossing point between the two countries as very important.
For his part, Deputy Prime Minister Musa Xhaferi assessed the bilateral relations as very good relations and said that the deepening of cooperation in various fields is important, particularly in the field of economics.
He said that both countries should assist each other in the integration processes and to provide support to regional initiatives. He will be engaged to increase the recognition of independence of Kosovo, which helps to stabilize the region.
Mr. Xhaferi said that Macedonia provides full support to Kosovo’s territorial integrity and its sovereignty and considers the partition of Kosovo on ethnic lines unacceptable.
