President Atifete Jahjaga met with President Barack Obama

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga during her stay in New York, held a series of important meetings.

She attended the annual reception for world leaders, hosted by U.S. President, Barack Obama, which was attended by presidents, prime ministers and foreign ministers from countries around the world. During the reception, President Jahjaga met with the U.S. President, Mr. Barack Obama.

Furthermore, President Jahjaga attended the reception organized by former U.S. President Bill Clinton, within the activities of the “Clinton Global Initiative.” She had a separate meeting with former President Clinton, with whom she discussed a range of issues of interest.

President Atifete Jahjaga also met with former U.S. envoy in the Kosovo status talks, Ambassador Frank Wisner, with whom she discussed about the recognitions of Kosovo’s statehood and the flow of internal reforms necessary to achieve the strategic goals of our country.

In the context of this conversation, President Jahjaga informed Ambassador Wisner about the idea of creating the initiative “Friends of Kosovo” and invited him to be part of the network that aims the expansion of the diplomatic efforts in countries with which Kosovo has no official relations.

Mr. Wisner promised his continuous support for the process of recognitions and integration into Euro-Atlantic structures and said he felt honored for the invitation of President Jahjaga to continue his contribution for the consolidation of Kosovo’s statehood and its promotion as part of the initiative.

President Jahjaga also participated in a meeting with the representatives of the Albanian Professional Entrepreneurs Network (APEN), where she held a speech.
