President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Abdullah Gűl, sent a congratulatory telegramme to the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the declaration of Independence of the Republic of Kosovo.
The telegramme states:
Honourable Madam President,
On my personal behalf and on behalf of the Turkish people, I cordially congratulate you and the people of Kosovo, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the declaration of Independence of the Republic of Kosovo.
I fully believe that our fraternal and amicable relations, strengthened by our deep historic, cultural and personal ties, with our joint endeavour, will continue to strengthen in the coming future as well.
Turkey, as it has done in the past, will continue to support our Kosovar brothers and sisters in their ambition towards a multicultural, democratic and developed Kosovo.
Ending of the supervision of the independence in September 2012 has shown the concrete advancements that Kosovo has made since the declaration of its independence. We are pleased with this advancement. On this occasion, I would like to emphasize once again the importance that we attribute to a stable Kosovo, Kosovo that is continuously advancing towards the European integration and towards the Euro-Atlantic institutions as a trustworthy partner of the international community, which also acts as an important factor of peace and stable wellbeing in the region.
On this occasion, while wishing you good health and lots of happiness, I would like to reiterate my best wishes for the wellbeing of the people of Kosovo.
