President Osmani received representatives of a group of non-governmental organizations

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today representatives of a group of non-governmental organizations active in the field of democracy, rule of law and institutional oversight.   The focus of this meeting was the failure to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo and the impact that this situation has on the functioning of democratic institutions and on the lives of citizens. According to President Osmani, the delay in constitution of the Assembly damages not only the credibility of the institutions, but also the country’s progress towards its Euro-Atlantic agenda.   In this regard, Madam President reiterated her commitment to guarantee institutional functionality and to act in accordance with the Constitution, in the interest of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.   President Osmani expressed her readiness to continue to remain open to dialogue with civil society, in order to preserve democratic order and strengthen the country’s representative institutions.

President Osmani received the Commander of the Iowa National Guard, Major General Stephen Osborn

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today the Commander of the National Guard of the American state of Iowa, Major General Stephen Osborn, with whom she discussed the close cooperation between the KSF and the Iowa National Guard, as well as future plans to expand this strategic partnership. “The alliance with the US in the field of defense strengthens the state and sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo”, emphasized President Osmani. Furthermore, President Osmani expressed her gratitude and utmost appreciation for the continuous support that the Iowa Guard has provided to the KSF in the development and advancement of its operational capacities, which were successfully demonstrated during the joint international exercise “Defender Europe 2025”. She highlighted the fact that this year, within the framework of this exercise, Kosovo had the honour of welcoming the Tactical Command of the 28th Infantry Division of the US Army, and that members of the Iowa National Guard were an active part of the joint force that operated in the territory of Kosovo. At the meeting, President Osmani also expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity given to a KSF contingent to conduct joint exercises at the Joint Readiness Training Centre in Louisiana, together with members of the Iowa Guard and other US allied forces.

President Osmani concluded the consultations with political parties, local election date to be set in the coming days

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, held a consultative meeting today with political entities in order to set the date for local elections. During the meeting, President Osmani heard the proposals and positions of political entities, and in accordance with constitutional responsibilities and laws in force, she will announce the date of local elections in the coming days.
