The Albanian League of Prizren became the foundation of our national consciousness, a testament to the will for freedom and a precursor to independence. Today, 147 years later, we humbly honor the work of Abdyl Frashëri, Ymer Prizreni, Sulejman Vokshi and all the other patriots who kept alive the ideal of a free and equal nation among the nations of Europe. Dear Bukoshi family, It is with deep sorrow that I received the news of the passing of Dr. Bujar Bukoshi, a visionary physician and a statesman of unparalleled dedication. Dr. Bukoshi, former Prime Minister in Exile, will forever be remembered for his contribution to strengthening the cause of a free and independent Kosovo in the most difficult times for our people. His contribution as a physician, intellectual, and political leader has left an indelible mark on our path to freedom and independence. For decades, he served the country with dignity, knowledge, and determination. At these difficult times for the family, I sympathize with you and encourage you to find strength in coping with the pain. May the memory of Dr. Bujar Bukoshi be eternal!
President Osmani received the Prayer Breakfast representatives

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received yesterday the Prayer Breakfast representatives from the United States of America. She thanked them for their continued contribution in supporting the state and citizens of Kosovo. President Osmani emphasized that strategic alliances are essential for the future of the country and that the partnership with the US will continue to be a strong pillar in the process of building and strengthening the democratic institutions.
A week ago, the third edition of the International Forum on Women, Peace and Security, organized by President Vjosa Osmani, was successfully concluded

Over 2,000 participants, over 150 panelists from more than 45 countries and over 30 panels and discussion sessions for two consecutive days, Kosovo became the global epicenter of discussions on peace, security and the rights of women and children. On the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Agenda on Women, Peace and Security, Kosovo once again presented itself as a champion of this agenda as a country that, although emerging from war, has chosen peace, women’s empowerment, and the continuous advancement of human rights as the path to development. The focus of this edition was not only on women, but also on children, emphasizing the damage caused across generations by wars and conflicts, but also on the importance of their prevention, taking the history of Kosovo as a reason. The children of Kosovo, once children of war, are today the purest proof of the resilience and hope that arises from peace. Thanks to everyone who was part of this forum through words, ideas, experiences and visions, Kosovo was once again placed at the heart of this agenda and global discussions that aim for a fairer, safer and more peaceful world for all. President Osmani received the Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Mr. Aivo Orav

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today the Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Mr. Aivo Orav, with whom she discussed the latest political developments in the country, including the process of constitution of new institutions as well as Kosovo’s European path. The recent visit of the EU High Representative, Kaja Kallas was also discussed at the meeting. President Osmani assessed this visit, as well as the visits of other senior EU officials, as a signal of the European Union’s commitment to Kosovo’s aspirations for integration into European structures. In this context, the importance of reforms, cooperation in the field of the rule of law and the further deepening of cooperation with European institutions were also discussed.
President Osmani has set October 12th 2025, as the date of holding of regular local elections

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has set the October 12th 2025 as the date of holding of regular local elections in the Republic of Kosovo. This decision was made following a careful consideration of the proposals made by political entities, as well as after a full analysis, in accordance with constitutional and legal deadlines. The setting of this date aims to enable full preparation of the electoral process by the responsible institutions, including the Central Election Commission and other relevant institutions, in order for them to respect the highest standards of electoral administration. This date provides the necessary space for the technical and logistical organization of all forms and procedures of voting according to the legal definition. President Osmani has called on all political entities, civil society organizations and citizens to approach this process with full responsibility in order to guarantee a comprehensive, orderly and fair process.

I had the honor of awarding him the Presidential Medal of Merit, posthumously, for this extraordinary contribution.
