President Osmani and Prime Minister Kurti appoint the new Deputy Director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Albin Kurti, in compliance with the constitutional competencies of the President and Prime Minister of Kosovo, have appointed today Mr. Agon Bytyqi, as the Deputy Director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency. The newly appointed KIA Deputy Director graduated at the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina in 2008 and completed his Master's in the field of law in 2012. Mr. Bytyqi completed undertook a part of his studies in the US. He also passed the Jurisprudence exam in 2018. He has 11 years of experience in the field of security, as well as in international cooperation. 

President Osmani received the NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani received the NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, whom she thanked for the crucial role of the North Atlantic Alliance in the freedom of Kosovo, but also for the current contribution for a calm and safe environment, through KFOR troops. In this meeting, President Osmani thanked Mr. Stoltenberg also for the support of KFOR in the training of the KSF, which is conducting the transition process in the Army in accordance with NATO standards, being worthy to become part of this organization. Mrs. Osmani also mentioned the support of KFOR given to municipalities in facing the Covid-19 pandemic.   Further, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo’s future is in the EU, NATO and the UN.   “We are working diligently to join NATO. We need the support of this organization even with NATO members who do not recognize Kosovo”, stressed President Osmani.   Whereas, in the context of regional security, the President also mentioned the danger of Russian influence in the Balkans, therefor she considers Kosovo’s membership in this organization as very important. 

President Osmani received the President of the Constitutional Court

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani received today at a meeting the
President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Gresa Caka-
Nimani, whom she congratulated on her new tenure and offered full inter-institutional
cooperation.
