He became the voice that turned our collective pain into a demand for justice. Our gratitude is everlasting, as is our solemn responsibility to ensure that the truth of Reçak is never forgotten.

President Osmani received the credential letters of the newly appointed Ambassador of Estonia to Kosovo, Karin Anna Maandi

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today the credential letters of Estonia’s new Ambassador to Kosovo, Karin Anna Maandi. On this occasion, President Osmani extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Maandi and congratulated her on her appointment, voicing her confidence that her mandate will play an important role in further deepening and strengthening relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Estonia. President Osmani expressed her profound appreciation for Estonia’s steadfast, principled and outspoken support for Kosovo’s independence, sovereignty and the enhancement of its international profile, highlighting that Kosovo has consistently aligned its policies with those of the European Union. In addition, President Osmani and Ambassador Maandi discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation with Estonia in areas such as defense, digital transformation, electronic public services, cybersecurity, Euro-Atlantic integration and other areas of mutual interest. On matters of regional security and stability, President Osmani reaffirmed Kosovo’s commitment to peace, security and stability in the Western Balkans, while expressing gratitude to Estonia for its contribution to European security. The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received in a meeting the European Union’s Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Peter Sørensen, during which they discussed the latest political developments in Kosovo, the electoral processes, the security situation, relations with the European Union, and the future of the dialogue with Serbia. In the meeting, President Osmani underlined that the dialogue process must be centered on mutual recognition and that its success depends on the equal treatment of the parties. She further pointed out that Serbia has repeatedly violated the Brussels Agreement and the Ohrid Annex by infringing Kosovo’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, carrying out acts of aggression, and opposing Kosovo’s membership in international organizations. President Osmani stated that this process must be guided by clear objectives and deliver measurable results within the framework of European integration, underlining that the selective interpretation of agreements undermines the process. President Osmani further briefed Mr. Sørensen on the successful, democratic and inclusive conduct of parliamentary and local elections in Kosovo, noting that they demonstrated the state’s democratic maturity and the proper functioning of its institutions in full compliance with European standards. Relations between Kosovo and the European Union were also discussed at the meeting. President Osmani welcomed the December decision to fully lift the measures against Kosovo, announced at the EU-Western Balkans Summit, describing it as an important step towards restoring a full and equal partnership between Kosovo and the EU. Addressing Kosovo’s European perspective, President Osmani emphasized that the granting of EU candidate status is a strategic necessity, not only for Kosovo but also for regional stability and the credibility of the European Union itself. President Osmani highlighted Kosovo’s full alignment with the EU’s common foreign and security policy, its proven democratic record of accomplishment, and the strong momentum of reforms in the country. The President stressed that she will continue to work with EU Member States and EU institutions to advance Kosovo’s candidate status without any further delays.

President Osmani received the founders and members of the “Besa Besë” group

Today, the President received the founders and members of the “Besa Besë” group. The group has made an outstanding contribution to raising public awareness of the importance of consuming domestic products, by encouraging citizens to refrain from Serbian products and to support local producers. Focusing on domestic products is not merely a matter of economic identity; it has a direct impact on sustainable economic development, employment growth, the strengthening of the manufacturing sector and food security, ensuring that citizens consume safer and higher-quality products. I highly appreciate their dedication and remain committed to supporting every initiative that empowers domestic producers and the economy of our country, the President stated.

President Osmani received the Commander of the NATO Joint Forces Command in Naples, Admiral George M. Wikoff

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today the Commander of the NATO Joint Forces Command in Naples, Admiral George M. Wikoff, on the occasion of his assumption of duty at the head of one of the most important strategic commands of the North Atlantic Alliance. President Osmani congratulated Admiral Wikoff on his new tenure, wishing him success in leading the NATO Joint Forces Command in Naples and expressing her full confidence in his leadership and in the key role that this command plays for Euro-Atlantic security, regional stability and international peace. During the meeting, President Osmani reiterated the Republic of Kosovo’s gratitude to NATO and the United States of America for the decisive and irreplaceable role they have played and continue to play in guaranteeing peace, security, and stability in Kosovo since 1999. In this context, Madam President expressed exceptional appreciation for the KFOR mission as a reliable preventive force and guarantor of security for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, without any distinction. President Osmani confirmed her commitment to continuing cooperation with KFOR and emphasized that Kosovo remains a reliable, capable, and contributing partner to regional security and stability, strongly committed to the values of peace, democracy and the rule of law. In this spirit, Madam President highlighted the risks from Serbia’s destabilizing acts and its lack of accountability for the attack on KFOR soldiers, the terrorist attack, respectively the aggression in Banjska and the kinetic attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal.

President Osmani awarded Mr. Hasan Arat the Presidential Medal of Merit

Particular recognition was accorded to Mr. Arat’s decisive role in Kosovo’s candidacy to host the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games, a landmark event for Kosovo sport and for the international affirmation of the Republic of Kosovo.

President Osmani: Rexhep Mala and Nuhi Berisha, patriots who knew no fear and gave it all for the freedom of Kosovo

Between January 11th and 12th, 1984, at the Kodra e Trimave in Prishtina, patriots Rexhep Mala and Nuhi Berisha fell heroically in a confrontation with the forces of the Serbian regime. Two boys who knew no fear and gave everything for the freedom of Kosovo. As the founders of the Student Committee, they preceded the Student Spring of 1981, being an early sign of the great endeavor for liberation. Their heroic fall marked the beginning of a contribution that will forever remain part of history for the freedom of Kosovo. Rexhep Mala and Nuhi Berisha live in all of us who hold the homeland in our hearts, in every step that Kosovo takes and are proof that their courage and sacrifice are our respect and eternal memory.

President Osmani: Enver Maloku believed in the power of the word, dialogue and Rugova’s vision of freedom, a free, democratic and Western-oriented Kosovo

Today we remember Enver Maloku, the peaceful intellectual, patriot and close associate of the historic President Dr. Ibrahim Rugova. He was the voice of wisdom and dignity in the most difficult times for Kosovo, the architect of political communication that took our truth beyond borders. Enver Maloku believed in the power of speech, dialogue and Rugova’s vision of freedom, a free, democratic and Western-oriented Kosovo. He served the homeland with integrity and dedication, leaving deep traces on our state-building path. The murder of Enver Maloku is a crime that still requires bringing the perpetrators to justice. It is an obligation of the justice institutions and a debt to the voice of our truth. Glory to the life and work of Enver Maloku!
