President Osmani meets with senior United States officials during her official visit to Washington, D.C.

During her official visit to Washington, D.C., the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, held high-level meetings with representatives of key institutions of the United States of America, with a focus on strengthening the strategic partnership between Kosovo and the United States, as well as advancing common priorities in the field of security, defense, and economic development.

President Osmani met with the Senior Official of the United States Department of State, Brendan Hanrahan. The meeting was also attended by the Senior Director for Europe and Russia at the US National Security Council and Special Advisor to President Donald Trump, Charles McLaughlin, as well as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Daniel J. Lawton.

During the meeting, the latest political and security developments in Kosovo and the region were discussed, as well as the importance of continuous coordination with US partners in maintaining stability and strengthening the Euro-Atlantic security architecture.

In this context, the resumption of the Kosovo-US Strategic Dialogue was also discussed, with a particular focus on deepening cooperation in defense, security and economic development.

President Osmani emphasized the importance of advancing Kosovo’s international recognition, underlining that expanding international subjectivity remains a strategic priority, in close cooperation with American allies.

Kosovo’s integration into NATO was reaffirmed as a strategic objective and a guarantee for long-term stability and regional security. In this spirit, the presence of US military troops in Kosovo was highly praised, remaining a key element for security and stability in the country, as well as evidence of the unwavering partnership between Kosovo and the US.

Kosovo’s participation in the Board of Peace was assessed as historic, reflecting Kosovo’s increasingly active role as a contributor to international peace and security, as well as its readiness to take on greater responsibilities in global security initiatives.
