The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kosovo. The latest developments in the country, as well as the opportunities of further expansion of cooperation between Kosovo and Germany were discussed at the meeting. In this regard, President Osmani and Ambassador Rohde discussed Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, with President Osmani emphasizing the special importance of this process concluding successfully. A series of initiatives and projects of mutual interest were also discussed and President Osmani also spoke of the second edition of the International Forum for Women, Peace and Security as a platform to advance bilateral cooperation in line of accomplishment of this agenda.
President Osmani received the EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajčák
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the European Union Special Representative Miroslav Lajčák. Latest developments in the dialogue process with Serbia, with President Osmani reiterating Kosovo’s commitment as a constructive party in this process were discussed at the meeting. Madam President emphasized that the Brussels agreement of February 27th, 2023 and the Ohrid annex of March 18th 2023 must be fully implemented. President Osmani emphasized the need to lift the European Union measures against Kosovo, which are unfair and create a lack of balance in the dialogue. In this regard, she stated that Kosovo has offered the organization of new elections in the north of the country in accordance with Kosovo’s legal framework through the approval of the administrative instruction, potentiating her expectations that this right of the citizens is implemented without delay and in compliance with the procedures and legislation in force. The latest achievements regarding the implementation of the agreement on energy and license plates were welcomed at the meeting, as steps towards the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia. As far as the draft of the Association’s statute is concerned, Madam President reiterated that the only institution that can conclusively interpret the conformity of this act with the Constitution is the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, and also expressed her concerns regarding certain provisions of this draft, which may prove as challenging in its implementation in practice.
President Osmani after the meeting with Ambassador Ziv: Agreement reached with Israel on the abolition of visas for citizens of Kosovo
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received the Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Kosovo, Tamar Ziv. The two countries, as well as interstate agreements in various fields, which are expected to be signed soon were discussed at the meeting. Ambassador Ziv informed President Osmani that following the President’s request submitted to Israeli institutions, the government of Israel has expressed its agreement for the approval of the visa waiver agreement for citizens of Kosovo. In this direction, the two relevant ministries will continue with the agreement signing procedures and citizens will be notified as soon as the decision enters into force. Through this agreement, citizens of Kosovo will be able to travel without visa requirement to Israel for tourist purposes. President Osmani thanked Ambassador Ziv for this decision, a positive development which will pave the way for deeper cooperation between the two countries. On the occasion of the anniversary of the Holocaust Remembrance Day, President Osmani reiterated that Kosovo remembers the millions of innocent people lost in one of the darkest chapters of human history, and that this day serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences that stem from hatred and prejudice. Ambassador Ziv informed Madam President with the security situation in Israel while President Osmani informed the ambassador on the latest developments in the country and the in region.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, has commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Rogovë, Has massacre. President Osmani’s full commemoration: On January 27th, 28th and 29th 1999, one of the most macabre crimes in the history of Kosovo took place – the Rogovë, Has massacre. The forces of the Milosevic genocidal regime brutally attacked the villages of Rogovë, Goden and Bishtazhin in Gjakovë and massacred 9 civilians, while 21 fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army also fell on the altar of freedom. We will never forget the innocent lives taken brutally, as well as those who fell for our freedom! On the anniversary of this massacre, the demand for justice is imperative so that such crimes never happen again! May the memory of the martyrs and the fallen in Rogovë, Has be eternal!

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today on a working visit the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski. At the meeting with her counterpart, President Osmani reaffirmed her commitment to the continuation of excellent relations with North Macedonia. Albanians in North Macedonia, according to President Osmani, are a connecting bridge between the two states and a pillar of stability of the European integration process of North Macedonia. President Osmani thanked President Pendarovski for his personal dedication to the excellent relations between Kosovo and North Macedonia. According to President Osmani, both countries have a joint vision of a stable and integrated Western Balkans in the EU. President Osmani also expressed her gratitude for the support and cooperation from North Macedonia, stressing the importance of joint engagement for regional stability. President Osmani stated that with the support of friendly amicable countries such as North Macedonia, Kosovo can advance on its path of European integration. In this context, President Osmani said that membership in the Council of Europe is in function of protection of the human rights of all citizens of Kosovo without distinction. According to President Osmani, Kosovo has demonstrated serious engagement in the process of radical reforms, so it deserves to receive the status of the EU candidate country. President Osmani emphasized that North Macedonia is not only a neighbour of Kosovo, but also a partner in many processes. “The process of European integration is a priority that unites us and, on this path, we will continue to help each other” stated Madam President. Inclusion of Kosovo in the PfP, followed by full membership in NATO, has a strategic importance and is also a guarantee for the stability not only of Kosovo, but also of the region, added President Osmani Both leaders affirmed the existence of the potential for further expansion of cooperation in the fields of trade, cultural exchange, healthcare, education, agriculture, tourism, information technology and other areas of mutual interest.

Good morning everyone, Honourable organizers, Honourable Mr. Panxha, Honourable Entrepreneurs, Dear extraordinary women and girls, Thank you for the invitation! I’m so glad we’re starting this day together, we actually had breakfast with some women and men entrepreneurs who really believe in the cause of gender equality, and I think there’s an incredibly positive driving force among you and within you that lies itself in the foundations of economic development While we are meeting within the “Kosova Business Forum”, in such a format, naturally my focus, as Astrit also mentioned, will be on the participation of girls and women in business and the labour market in general. It is being confirmed more and more each day that it is girls and women through whom the full economic potential can be achieved, untapped opportunities can be explored and our development objectives can be fully capitalized. Data, research, reports are making it more and more clear that the engagement of women in business affects greater economic growth, prosperity and development for everyone. While this topic is often treated under the guise of gender equality or social justice, we must ultimately understand that the equal inclusion of girls and women is not simply the right thing to do, but is also the key to unlocking their full developmental potential in our country and elsewhere. Respectively, it is a prerequisite for improving overall well-being. One thing is certain – when women progress and are active in society, societies themselves progress and enjoy greater well-being. Women bring perspective; women bring innovation; women bring progress. Our world is experiencing a tremendous transformation and at the forefront of this change are visionary women, who are breaking barriers and reshaping the business landscape and not only. I consider that we are experiencing a decisive time; a time when women’s talents, skills and determination are increasingly being recognized and appreciated. I am convinced that day by day, inclusiveness and equal opportunities will not be mere words, but basic principles and guiding principles for every institution, organization and company. However, the road to gender equality is long and we must continue to challenge stereotypes, fight prejudice and create environments where every woman feels empowered to reach her full potential. In fact, women have always been the backbone of our societies based on the crucial role they traditionally had in the family. But women are much more than that, they are a source of transformative energy for our state and society. They are playing an increasingly active role in our societies. And now this is being proven through their outstanding leadership in the direction of corporations, start-ups, economic organizations and not only. However, the journey of women in business is fraught with challenges. From systemic prejudices and unequal opportunities, to what is known as the challenge of creating a balance between professional engagement on the one hand and private life on the other, a phenomenon unfortunately very little known to the other gender. In this journey, the creation of supporting public policy infrastructure is essential. This includes flexible working hours, appropriate parental leave policies and affordable childcare as mentioned earlier through the provision of sufficient nurseries so that women are more encouraged to engage in business, but also in public life. By creating an environment where women don’t have to choose between their careers and their families, because they can have both, we not only make it easier for them to engage, but also increase opportunities and empower them for greater success in every sector and in every aspect. Today, in the business world, we find ourselves surrounded by inspiring stories of women who have defied the odds; have turned challenges into opportunities; and have turned disappointments or any eventual failure into steps that bring them closer and closer to success. As important as these stories are on a personal level, they serve as a source of inspiration for other girls and women who come after them. To the young women entering the business world, I want to tell you this: you have the opportunity to become part of a social transformation. A transformation that strongly believes in inclusiveness and which, through equal opportunities, opens doors even to those who may hesitate to get involved at first or who see entrepreneurship as a distant dream. Meanwhile, to the seasoned professionals in this room, I want to express the highest appreciation for your tenacity, wisdom and winning spirit. You have paved the way for many, many other girls and women to whom doors were once closed and opportunities seemed distant. But, your work is not yet done. Your legacy should never be just what you achieved. The greatest achievement is the path you will pave for others who come after you so that they can walk more freely and with ever fewer obstacles ahead. This forum today and the conversations that will follow are moments to celebrate the achievements and work of women and girls throughout Kosovo and beyond, who have worked diligently to reshape the narrative of success in the business world. This activity today as well as your daily work brings us one step closer to our common goal of creating an inclusive environment where opportunities are equal, doors are open, and desire, work and dedication to growth and development are the main drivers towards openness of new successful chapters in the development history of our country.
