President Osmani received with special honor in El Salvador

 At the invitation of the President of the Republic of El Salvador Nayib Bukele, President Osmani has officially departed to the Republic of El Salvador. President Osmani’s visit is the first of a head of state of the Republic of Kosovo to this country. Madam President will attend the inauguration of the re-elected President Nayib Bukele. During her stay in San Salvador, President Osmani will hold a series of bilateral meetings with state leaders of El Salvador, commencing with President Bukele. The strengthening of bilateral relations, interstate cooperation, as well as of the existing alliances and the establishment of new ones with countries in the Latin American region will be at the focus of these meetings. President Osmani will also hold a number of other bilateral meetings with representatives of other countries, with the aim of strengthening of the international position of the Republic of Kosovo and advancement of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

President Osmani received the German Special Representative for the countries of the Western Balkans Manuel Sarrazin

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the German Special Representative for the countries of the Western Balkans Manuel Sarrazin. The latest political and security developments in the country and the region were discussed at the meeting. President Osmani emphasized Kosovo’s commitment to the European integration process, expressing her gratitude for German support. Madam President potentiated the full support to the Berlin Process and the agreements resulting from this process. At the same time, President Osmani laid out the need for the continuation of German support to the strengthening of Kosovo’s international position as well as the fulfilment of aspirations for membership in the Council of Europe, NATO, the EU and other international organizations.

President Osmani received the chairman of the Judicial Council of Kosovo and the chairman of the Prosecutorial Council of Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received in separate meetings the chairpersons of the KJC Albert Zogaj and the KPK Ardian Hajdaraj, and discussing with them the justice reform process, stressing the need for the reforms to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability. The disturbing phenomenon of the increase in the number of cases of domestic violence and gender-based violence were discussed at the meeting, where President Osmani reiterated the need to continue inter-institutional cooperation against this phenomenon that has reached alarming proportions, providing answers to fast and effective legal measures to protect victims and hold perpetrators accountable. At the meeting with the KPK, the importance of handling of cases of crimes committed during the war, bearing in mind that some of the witnesses and survivors are aging and passing away, and hence it is urgent to collect all the evidence for the crimes committed by the Milosevic genocidal regime.

President Osmani commemorated the anniversary of the Massacre in the Tusuz neighborhood of Prizren

25 years ago, the forces of the Serbian genocidal regime, on the eve of freedom, ruthlessly killed 27 residents of the Tusuz neighborhood (The neighborhood of the Brave) in Prizren. This neighborhood stands out for its contribution and sacrifice to the freedom of Kosovo and hence serving justice to the victims is our daily engagement. May the memory be eternal for the martyrs and all those who fell for freedom!
