President Osmani, at the invitation of the US President Joe Biden, represented Kosovo at the closing event of the NATO Summit in Washington D.C.
The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, at the invitation of the US President, Joe Biden, represented Kosovo at the closing event of the NATO Summit in Washington D.C. President Osmani considered participation in this NATO Summit event to be of special importance for the state of Kosovo. “This is the first time in history that Kosovo is included in a Summit of the alliance of hope, and for this I am personally grateful to President Biden and the USA”, emphasized President Osmani. The Compact Ukraine initiative, as the closing event of the NATO Summit, is part of NATO and its partners’ commitment to the long-term security of Ukraine. This NATO initiative creates a comprehensive security architecture to strengthen Ukraine’s defensive capacities. At the conclusion of the Summit, President Osmani spoke with President Biden, whom she thanked for his contribution and commitment to Kosovo, and had the opportunity to discuss with other leaders from several countries around the world.

The two leaders discussed the importance of moving forward on Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic path, focusing on the necessary steps towards NATO membership, an alliance that is crucial for security and peace in our region and beyond. President Osmani highlighted that the meeting was meant to coordinate positions and joint efforts so that Kosovo can join Albania and other allied countries as a full NATO member as soon as possible, where it rightfully belongs.
