The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the US Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Balkans, Alexander Kasanof. The further strengthening of the alliance with the United States of America as well as the importance of close cooperation to achieve common strategic goals were discussed at the meeting. President Osmani expressed her deep gratitude for the continuous support of the USA to Kosovo, laying out the need for a strategic dialogue with the USA, as an important step in strengthening the partnership, a request that has been stipulated by President Osmani for many years now. In this context, President Osmani underlined the importance of Kosovo’s membership in NATO, stressing that Kosovo integrated in the North Atlantic Alliance strengthens the security of the country and also contributes to the stability of the region. At the meeting with Kasanof, President Osmani also discussed the possibility of expansion of cooperation in various fields of mutual interest, such as fields of defense and security.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković, has travelled to Dubrovnik to represent the Republic of Kosovo at the Ukraine-Southeast Europe Summit. At the summit, President Osmani will be welcomed by the Croatian Prime Minister Plenković and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, as she will join other leaders from Southeast Europe in the plenary session. It is expected that during this summit, reaffirmation of the unwavering support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, the importance of sanctions against Russia, cooperation with the EU and the support of Southeast European countries for Ukraine, will be reaffirmed. In addition to participating in the plenary session where the President will deliver an address, Madam President will also hold meetings with her counterparts.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has traveled to Montenegro to participate in the annual meeting of the regional heads of state within the framework of the Brdo Brione Process. President Osmani will be welcomed by the host of the meeting, the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic, as well as by the Presidents of the two co-founding countries of the Brdo Brione Process, the President of Croatia Zoran Milanovic and the President of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar. President Osmani will deliver an address during the joint session with the leaders of the region and will also hold meetings with the heads of several participating states. The annual leaders meeting will focus on the European Union enlargement process and the importance of the region’s EU membership. During the main leaders’ session, President Osmani will talk about Kosovo’s commitment to full integration into the Euro-Atlantic institutions, sustainable peace and security, as well as to regional cooperation.
