The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani and the USAID Kosovo director Zeinah Salahi signed today amendment 3 of the Development Objective Grant Agreement with the United States of America, through which the Republic of Kosovo benefits an additional 3 million dollars, increasing the total grant to over 41 million dollars.
This agreement aims the better service to citizens by accountable and effective governance institutions, as well as an increase of the opportunities for inclusive democratic and economic participation. It also aims for the improvement and cooperation between citizens, civil society, businesses and the public sector so that local communities have a more favourable position to address Kosovo's development challenges.
This agreement was originally signed by President Osmani in November 2020, through which the Republic of Kosovo has received 33 million dollars from USAID. In May of this year, amendment 1 of the agreement was signed, which provided the Republic of Kosovo with an additional sum of 1.6 million US dollars.
Through amendment 2 of this agreement, the Republic of Kosovo received an additional 3.8 million dollars, and the third amendment of the agreement was signed today, by means of which the Republic of Kosovo benefits another 3 million dollars. In total, through this agreement, the Republic of Kosovo benefited over 41 million US dollars from the United States of America.
