The President of the Republic of Kosovo Madam Atifete Jahjaga today congratulated the German Chancellor Madam Angela Merkel for her victory in the general elections of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The congratulatory message as follows:
Dear Chancellor Merkel,
On my personal behalf and on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, I am honored to express my heartfelt congratulations for your victory in the general elections that were held yesterday in Germany.
This victory clearly demonstrates the support of the German citizens towards your vision and your leadership and their support towards the bold steps you have undertaken during your two consecutive mandates, guaranteeing the economic strength and welfare of the citizens of your country.
The Federal Republic of Germany remains an inspiration for the countries of South Eastern Europe that aim to build democratic societies and prosperous economies which are at the service of their citizens.
Germany has played a crucial role in offering stability to the European Union’s path and to guaranteeing the European perspective for the Western Balkan countries.
I express the deepest gratitude for the continuous support and cooperation you have shown to the Republic of Kosovo and its citizens in all processes through which we have passed, the consolidation of our statehood and our democratic institutions.
We consider the Federal Republic of Germany as our closest friend. I am convinced that our close cooperation will continue in the future to meet our common goals.
I would like to reaffirm that the Republic of Kosovo remains committed to its road towards establishing an inclusive and democratic state and contribute to the peace and stability in the region.
